Important Safety Information

Boxed Warning: Risk of Thyroid C-Cell Tumors

In studies with rodents, Semaglutide and related GLP-1 receptor agonists caused thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). It is unknown whether Semaglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including MTC, in humans. Semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC, or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Tell your provider right away if you notice a lump or swelling in your neck, trouble swallowing, shortness of breath, or hoarseness that does not go away.

Contraindications & Pre-Existing Health Conditions

Do not use Semaglutide if you are allergic to it or any inactive ingredients in the medication. Do not use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as GLP-1 receptor agonists may cause fetal harm. Before taking Semaglutide, disclose all medical conditions to your healthcare provider, especially histories of pancreatitis, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, kidney impairment, gallbladder problems, or severe gastrointestinal disease.

Potential Adverse Reactions & Serious Warnings

Serious side effects may include acute pancreatitis (persistent severe abdominal pain radiating to the back, with or without vomiting), acute gallbladder disease (cholelithiasis or cholecystitis), hypoglycemia (especially when co-administered with sulfonylureas or insulin), acute kidney injury caused by dehydration, hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis or angioedema), and worsening of diabetic retinopathy. The most common adverse reactions reported in clinical trials include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, eructation, headache, and fatigue. Most gastrointestinal events are mild to moderate in severity and decrease as therapy continues.

Compounding Pharmacy & FDA Disclosure

Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies or FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities pursuant to an individualized prescription issued by a licensed medical provider. Compounded formulations of Semaglutide are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not evaluate compounded drugs for safety, efficacy, or manufacturing quality. Prescriptions are written by Trim MD's licensed doctors only when medically appropriate, and all prescription decisions remain at the discretion of the treating doctor.
